The sound of the Martin D1 Acoustic Guitar is very balanced, every string sounds equally and loudly pronounced. Nothing is muffled, the treble strings are bright and clear, the bass strings are warm, precise and very well balanced with the higher strings. The neck is made of Stratabond - a layered construction technique that uses 30 layers of birch wood bonded with resin. This makes for a 25% stronger neck compared to traditional mahogany construction.
