Our guitar repairs are carried out by the legend Stuart Monks.
Stuart’s work gained him a reputation as the best and has toured as a guitar technician with Paul Weller, Bryan Adams, Eurythmics, John Entwistle (The Who), Marillion, Adam Ant and Spandau Ballet. He also worked Live Aid and the Guitar Legends in Seville where Nuno Bettencourt, Joe Satriani, Steve Vai, Albert Collins and B.B.King played. More recently, Stuart has worked as the guitar specialist for singer/songwriter Adele and her band. He first began repairing guitars professionally in '73 working for guitarist Bill Nelson (Be-Pop Deluxe).
Stuart has also built guitars for Dave Gilmour (Pink Floyd), Joe Walsh (Eagles), Jeff Beck, Eric Clapton, Jimmy Page (Led Zeppelin) amongst others in Roger Giffin’s Workshop. He also worked for Wal custom-making bass guitars from '89 to '04 where he built basses for Paul McCartney, Geddy Lee (Rush), Michael Peter Balzary "Flea" (Red Hot Chilli Peppers) and Justin Chancellor (Tool).
Besides doing the guitar repairs at Pro Music International, Stuart is also working with many of the West End musicals including Rock of Ages, Legally Blonde, Dirty Dancing, Jersey Boys, Thriller Live and has been the guitar specialist and consultant for 8 years in the hit show We Will Rock You, produced by Ben Elton and Brian May.

Restring
A restring includes a general clean up and fingerboard oil.
Restring 6-string Guitar - £20 + cost of strings
Restring 12-string Guitar - £25 + cost of strings
Set Up
Restring, action adjustment (lower/raise), truss rod adjustment, bridge adjustment, intonation adjustment, clean and oil fingerboard and some electronics work.
Acoustic, electric guitars and basses without locking tremolo unit - £50 + strings
Electric guitars with locking tremolos - £50 + strings
If frets of the instrument are worn and need stoning and re crowning add £20
Fit Machine Head - from £15/£35 (single/set of 6)
Fit New Bridge - from £25 plus cost of bridge
Adjust bridge - from £25
Fit New Top Nut - from £35/£45 (pre-shaped/blank)
Fit New Pickup - from £40/£45 plus cost of pickup (electric/acoustic)
Re-Fret
Plain unbound finger board - £120
Lacqueredmaple board, including re lacquer - £160
Bound finger board - £150
Bound finger board with enclosed fret ends - £200
